Karaoke.

A mix up has happened at the Casino of Learning. Both the poets society and the karaoke crew are booked in the same room.

Can you mix these two up and create a song poem for everybody to sing along?

Use the Live Titles in Clips to create a sing-along.

The Steps.

Here is my story:

To get the lyrics, open Apple music and tap on the search icon.

Fill in the name of the song and select it from the list.

Play the song by tapping on the play button.

Then tap on three dots down below and select Lyrics.

All the lyrics for the sing along will appear now.

For the second part open Clips and start a new clip by tapping on the square icon at the upper left hand corner. Tap on the plus sign to start a new project.

Next tap on the speech bubble icon to add Live Titles. When the options appear select the one that works best for you. Tap on the X to return to the main menu.

Next select either the camera, library or a poster to record your first part of the song. In my example I went for a mix between the poster and images from my Photo Library.

When you are ready to sing the first part, tap on the red recording button and swipe up.

TIPS: Play the song and the lyrics on another device so you can easily read along. Hold the microphone close enough to record the audio. Don’t worry if you make a mistake. We can always edit the text or worst case re-record the whole thing.

Once you are happy with the result, save your video.

Tap on the share button on the lower right hand corner.

Select Save Video.

Now You.

If you feel really brave, you can recreate your own favorite song for this karaoke activity.

Open GarageBand and start a new Live Loops or Tracks project.

Next select one of the video tutorials of Eoin Hughes to recreate a song in GarageBand.

Follow his steps to record your favorite song.

When exporting the song, select iTunes.

Afterwards repeat the Clips steps.

Going Further.

Share your sing-along on the screens in the park and entertain the people in the waiting lines.

This is one of the activities that educators can participate in during The Casino of Learning Playground
