To Scribble Or Not.

On this day the teacher introduced the children to some classic music. He asked them to close their eyes and listened carefully to the music. Feel the rhythm.

While the music is playing the students have to scribble on their iPads with their pencils. Afterwards they bring their scribbles to life with eyes, mouths, ears and more.

Turn on some music and let your learners scribble away. Then detect the little monsters.

The Steps.

Here is my story:

Open Keynote and start from a blank new template.

Delete any of the remaining text boxes.

Next tap on the screen with the Apple pencil so that the drawing tools appear. Scribble a few lines in different colours.

Once that is done, tap on the plus sign at the upper right hand corner. Add feet, eyes, ears and more from the Shapes Library.

Now that your scribble monsters are on the page, have them take to each other. Tap on the plus sign at the upper right hand corner again and now select Audio Recording.

Start your dialogue between the scribbles and tap done when you are finished.

Listen to the result.

Going Further.

Luckily your students could understand the conversations between these critters. Take this activity even further by recording whole conversation with sounds effects in GarageBand.

This is one of the activities that educators can participate in during The Playground.

If you are inspired to try this yourself, have a look at the resources I used:
