Pots And Pans.

For all you thrill seekers out there I have a little surprise… Today is the day that I’m taking you to the amusement park. First on the list is the roller coaster, so dive into your kitchen cabinets and pull out those pots and pans. It’s about to get exciting.

The best advice I got about Live Loops in Garageband is that you have to play them live.

Kurt Klynen

The Steps.

Here is my story:

First find an appropriate video on YouTube. Here is my example.

Now open GarageBand and start a new Live Loops template.

Tap on the first cell and tap on Instruments.

Keep sliding till you see the Audio Recorder and tap Voice.

Turn off the metronome.

TIP: This is the moment where you have your kitchen utensils ready to be recorded.

Tap the recording button and start recreating the sound you want to use for your roller coaster experience.

When your recording is finished, tap the stop button.

Repeats these steps for as many sounds as you want to add to your collection.

TIP: In my example I’ve grouped certain sounds in categories like cheers, roller coaster, nature sounds, etc. Bundling them makes it easier to retrieve the sounds when you are ready to record your live performance.

Next fire up your roller coaster video and have your Live Loops grid ready.

Experiment with the timing a few times before you invite your audience for the big moment. Hitting the right cell at the right time takes practice.

When you feel like you’ve nailed it, press record and share your result.

Going Further.

Add Apple Loops to your final recording to take your ride to the next level.
